NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TOWN OF CLINTWOOD, VIRGINIA REGARDING
ADOPTION OF THE LOCAL FLOOD RESILIENCE PLAN

Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of Clintwood, Virginia, will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall located at 248 Clintwood Main Street, Clintwood, Virginia 24228.

This is to consider and allow public comment on the proposed Town of Clintwood Flood Resilience Plan.

This plan has been prepared to identify local flood vulnerabilities, assess risk, and establish actionable strategies and nature-based solutions to mitigate the impacts of flooding. Formal adoption of this resilience plan by the Clintwood Town Council satisfies a key prerequisite set by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) under the Community Flood Preparedness Fund (CFPF) guidelines. Adoption of the plan makes the Town of Clintwood eligible to apply for future state grants and loan funding for flood protection and infrastructure projects.

Any citizen, taxpayer, or interested person shall have the right to attend and state his or her views orally or in writing on this proposed Town of Clintwood Flood Resilience Plan.

A complete draft copy of the Town of Clintwood Flood Resilience Plan is available for public inspection beginning on October 1, 2026, at the Clintwood Town Hall.

Special Exception Permit

NOTICE is hereby given that the Clintwood Town Council and the Clintwood Planning Commission will hold a joint public hearing on October 13, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. at the Clintwood Town Hall for the purpose of receiving public comments regarding a Special Use Permit for Glenn Hearl to place a 2009 double wide manufactured home on a vacant lot on Chatham Drive. A copy of the Town of Clintwood Zoning Ordinance and Map is available for public inspection at the Clintwood Town Hall located at 248 Clintwood Main Street, Clintwood, Virginia during regular business hours (8:00 am-4:30 pm).

The Town of Clintwood hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held on June 9, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Clintwood Town Hall, Clintwood, Virginia for the purpose of receiving public comment on a proposed ordinance amending and adopting Title 46.2 (Motor Vehicle Code) of the Code of Virginia, 1950 as amended as the ordinances for the Town of Clintwood.  A copy of the proposed ordinance is on file in the Office of the Town Clerk at 248 Clintwood Main Street, Clintwood, Va. for interested parties to inspect.
