NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TOWN OF CLINTWOOD, VIRGINIA REGARDING
ADOPTION OF THE LOCAL FLOOD RESILIENCE PLAN
Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of Clintwood, Virginia, will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall located at 248 Clintwood Main Street, Clintwood, Virginia 24228.
This is to consider and allow public comment on the proposed Town of Clintwood Flood Resilience Plan.
This plan has been prepared to identify local flood vulnerabilities, assess risk, and establish actionable strategies and nature-based solutions to mitigate the impacts of flooding. Formal adoption of this resilience plan by the Clintwood Town Council satisfies a key prerequisite set by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) under the Community Flood Preparedness Fund (CFPF) guidelines. Adoption of the plan makes the Town of Clintwood eligible to apply for future state grants and loan funding for flood protection and infrastructure projects.
Any citizen, taxpayer, or interested person shall have the right to attend and state his or her views orally or in writing on this proposed Town of Clintwood Flood Resilience Plan.
A complete draft copy of the Town of Clintwood Flood Resilience Plan is available for public inspection beginning on October 1, 2026, at the Clintwood Town Hall.
