An all-star bluegrass supergroup unites for the first time to honor the legacy of the legendary Stanley Brothers at the Jettie Baker Center in Clintwood, 348 Clintwood Main Street, on Tuesday, June 12 at 7 p.m. This ground-breaking event is part of The Crooked Road’s 2018 Mountains of Music Homecoming. 

The Stanley Brothers All-Star Band brings together for the first time six great musicians who music and lives have been shaped by the musical legacy of the Stanley Brothers. This stellar line-up includes fiddler and DeweyFest founder Dewey Brown, championship banjo player Tommy Brown, bassist and member of the Clinch Mountain Boys Randall Hibbitts, acclaimed mandolinist and first director of the Kentucky Center of Traditional Music Don Rigsby, multiple award-winning bluegrass vocalist and guitarist Junior Sisk, and Ralph Stanley II, son of the late Dr. Ralph Stanley, on guitar. Clintwood was selected as the location for this concert since it is also the location of the Ralph Stanley Museum and Dickenson County: The historic home of Dr. Ralph and Carter Stanley.

The Mountains of Music Homecoming is an extraordinary nine-day music and cultural showcase event that stretches across the three hundred and thirty miles of The Crooked Road, Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail. With 24 featured concerts, three culinary based Feastival events, and over 70 cultural events, the Mountains of Music Homecoming encourages travelers to follow the music through the heart of The Crooked Road Region. 

The 68-page Official Guide to the Mountains of Music Homecoming is now available at Southwest Virginia public libraries; Southwest Virginia branches of the Bank of Marion, New Peoples Bank, and Union Bank and Trust; all Virginia Welcome Centers; and many visitor centers and tourism offices throughout Southwest Virginia.
