NOTICE is hereby given that the Clintwood Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a Public Hearing on November 5, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. at the Clintwood Town Hall for the purpose of receiving public comment in regards to a Special Use Exception Application from Rick Mullins, Mullins Funeral Home, to utilize the brown metal building (facing Walnut Street) at 142 Clintwood Main Street for a Crematory. The Planning Commission will hear the request on October 28, 2020, and make their recommendation to the Board of Zoning Appeals. A copy of the Town of Clintwood Zoning Ordinance and Map is available for public inspection at the Clintwood Town Hall at 248 Main Street, Clintwood, Virginia during regular business hours.

The Clintwood Town Council will conduct a public hearing at Council Chambers on Main Street at the Town Hall on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at 6:00 P.M. to receive public comment regarding a proposed sale agreement of Town-owned real estate located on Walnut Street with frontage along Chase Street along with an adjoining parking area.

The request is to change the use from commercial to residential to occupy the property as a Developmental Disability Adult Day Support Program for their activities and recreation. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 15.2-2506 of the Code of Virginia as amended, the Clintwood Town Council will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on June 9, 2020 to consider the proposed municipal budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

The following is the proposed increase in the residential garbage rate: 

Proposed Residential Garbage Rate Effective July 1, 2020 

The new residential garbage rate will be $9 which is a monthly increase of $2

Town Decals 

A fee for Town Decals will no longer be assessed by the Town of Clintwood and a town decal will no longer be required to be displayed on your vehicle.

All tax levies and other fees, including water, sewer, and garbage rates, licenses, taxes, and other utility fees and assessments previously imposed by the municipality are again levied, assessed, and imposed as set forth previously by the Clintwood Town Council and shall remain in force and effective until changed by the Clintwood Town Council. 

Any citizen, taxpayer, or interested person shall have the right to attend and state his or her views, orally or in writing on the budget. A copy of the entire proposed budget is available for public inspection during regular business hours at the Clintwood Town Hall located at 248 Clintwood Main Street, Clintwood, Virginia.

Notice of Public Hearing

The Town of Clintwood hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held on June 9, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Clintwood Town Hall, Clintwood, Virginia for the purpose of receiving public comment on a proposed ordinance in response to the federal stimulus Cares Act to enact a local hospital provider assessment in the Town of Clintwood to access a fee on the non public hospital in the Town of Clintwood to fund the non federal share of the Medicaid supplemental payment programs authorized in the Medicaid State Plan Amendments 11-018 and 11-019. The Town of Clintwood is acting only as a pass through for the reimbursement to Ballad Hospital. A copy of the proposed ordinance is on file in the Office of the Town Clerk for interested parties to inspect.
