Independence Day Celebration

The Town of Clintwood will hold our Independence Day Celebration on Thursday, July 4 with these exciting and family-friendly community events:

7:00 to 11:00 AM – Clintwood Kiwanis Club pancake breakfast will be held at the Kids Korner Park. Cost: $5.

9:30 AM – Dickenson County Historical Society will host a book fair with local authors at the Historical Society’s office next to the Field House.

11:30 AM – A flag-folding ceremony conducted by VFW Post 8979 in front of the Historical Society office. 

1:00 PM – Little Miss and Mister Firecracker contest and Mrs. and Mr. Bombshell contest in front of the town hall.  Registration is between 12:15 and 12:45 PM.  Trophies will be given out. 

2:00 PM – Parade:  Call town hall at 276-926-8383 to register your float.

Following the parade, all veterans will be fed by the Masonic Lodge.

3:00 to 7:00 PM – Free kids rides at the old Clintwood High School baseball field.

7:00 PM – Evening entertainment concert with the Railway Express Band at the Ralph Cummins Stadium.  Band is being sponsored by Bernard Dhas and Dominion Health and Fitness.

9:00 PM – Contest drawings 

9:30 PM – Fireworks

Vendors will be on-site throughout the day! Join us as we celebrate America!
