Dickenson County is currently searching for members of our county to help make ART happen!
We invite anyone to our first group meeting for an open discussion on how you can be of assistance to our county and region in bringing the ARTS ALIVE in Dickenson County.
We seek people who LOVE our county, people who are into various ART forms and perspectives i.e., musicians, writers, photographers, arts supporters and collectors, agriculturalists, and people with an open mind who are cooperative doers!
You'll learn about ARTS activities in our county, help make projects happen, create ideas for new projects and network with like-minded folks as you offer input into matters that affect our county's ARTISTIC endeavors.
Your help will impact the ART community. Programs can only be made possible with a willingness to be a dedicated mover, shaker, and open-minded ART community maker.
Some of our present goals are to bring back Pioneer Days, host a spring music and arts festival, build a community theater, promote sustainable agriculture, and ultimately build a calendar of events that are inclusive of ALL people.
ARTS COUNCIL MEMBERS
One of the most unique aspects of this group is there is no paid staff members or employees; all members serve as volunteers with the organization. Many of the ARTS council members are not artists but are people who are community-minded, and who are striving to make our community a better place, and recognize by the implementation and promotion of the ARTS, our quality of living can be greatly improved.
To become a member you do not have to be an ARTIST nor do you have to be a resident of Dickenson County. If you would like to be involved with a progressive, interesting, challenging, and rewarding organization that is making a difference in our community, please join us.
